Would You Buy A House Here?
A pensioner who paid £60,000 for his house 35 years ago has recently been offered £10 million for it. This house is located on a place called "Sandbanks" (a little clue to it's location!!) on the Dorset Peninsula which in recent years has become the World's fourth most expensive place to live. Good for him you might think however, this house is so close to the sea that the beach is just a few yards from his back door. Again you might think good for him. Pity he doesn't know about a little thing called sea level rise. If I were Mr Jack Holsgrove I would think seriously about taking the £10 million and moving somewhere that is a tad higher, maybe on top of a big hill because if sea level rise predictions are even remotely accurate he could be in for a bit of a shock!
